The VACMS First Timer's grant provides funding to educators employed in a Virginia school division or private school who have not previously attended a VACMS annual conference. One grant is available which will pay for the VACMS conference registration and one night's lodging if travel to the conference is greater than 75 miles one way.

  • The application requires a short explanation of why the applicant wishes to attend the conference and how it will benefit the applicant's work with mathematics teachers.
  • If awarded, the applicant will be expected to share his/her knowledge with the VACMS membership.

With a limited number of accepted students, you will graduate with a Master of Education in Education Leadership with a concentration in Mathematics Specialist Leader (K-8) in December, 2021.

This six-semester program is appropriate for K-12 educators and will give you a strong background in mathematics content, instructional strategies, and school-based leadership.
